(COTTAGE PIE – Shepherd’s pie)


500 gr of minced lamb

500 ml of broth

1 tablespoon of sunflower oil

1 large onion

2 tablespoons of tomato paste

2-3 medium carrots

1/2 cup peas

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary


6-7 potatoes, diced

85 g of butter

3 spoons of milk

Heat 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil in a medium saucepan, then add 1 chopped onion and 2-3 chopped carrots and peas, fry for a few minutes.

When it is tender, increase the heat, add 500 g of ground lamb and fry, draining the excess fat.

Add 2 tablespoons of tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce, and simmer for a few minutes.

Pour in 500 ml of stock, bring to the boil, close the lid and cook for 40 minutes, opening halfway through.

Making mashed potatoes:

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 190 degrees, then boil the diced potatoes in salted water for 20 minutes until soft and draining. Then mash and mash with 85g of butter and 3 tablespoons of milk.

Place the mince in an ovenproof bowl, crumble over the top and fluff with a fork.

(The serving can now be refrigerated and frozen for up to a month.)

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top begins to brown and the mince bubbles around the edges.

(To cook frozen, bake at 160°C for 1 hour-1 hour 20 minutes until golden. If desired, broil until golden.)

Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
