1 package of butter (at room temperature)

1 egg

Half a glass of yogurt

Half a glass of oil

Half a glass of granulated sugar

1 teaspoon of baking powder

4.5 cups of flour

1 package of vanilla

For the filling:

50 grams of raw kadayif

1 cup walnuts (chopped)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

For the syrup:

4 glasses of water

3.5 cups granulated sugar

4-5 drops of lemon juice

For the above:

1 cup roasted kadayif

2 tablespoons of pistachio powder


We start by preparing our dough for the legendary tali baba dessert. For this, put the butter, eggs, yogurt, oil, granulated sugar in the dough bowl and mix them. Then add the flour and vanilla and knead until you get a dough that doesn’t stick to your hand but has a very smooth consistency. We take walnut-sized pieces of the dough we have prepared and roll them in our hands. Flatten the dough by pressing it in the palm of your hand and sprinkle some raw kadayif, some walnuts and some cinnamon powder in the middle and close all the edges of the dough in the middle. We put the dough one by one in a baking tray or a large hole, with the covered side down. We continue this process until all the sweet dough is used up. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden. Since the baking time of each oven is different, be sure to check whether your dessert is cooked or not.


While our dessert is baking, prepare the syrup in the meantime. For this, take water and sugar in a suitable pot and let it boil. When the syrup starts to boil, add the lemon juice and let it boil for another 3 minutes. We take our dessert in the oven and pour the hot syrup over it. We sweat from time to time so that the sorbet goes well with our stringy baba desserts. When our dessert has absorbed its syrup, spread roasted kadayif over it. Garnish with pistachios while serving.
